Baby Sleeping Bags are a safe and comfortable way for babies to sleep. Warm Sleeping bags allow air to circulate around the baby so there is less likelihood of overheating and because the bag has a fitted neck and armholes your baby is highly unlikely to slip in or out, under or over, which is a common problem with fussy sheets and blankets. Baby Warm Sleeping bags are incredibly easy to make and unlike shop bought bags, you can create a baby warm sleeping bag that fits your baby exactly.
Fold your fabric in half and lay your baby’s outfit on top. With a pen, trace around the outfit, give yourself half an inch or so around the outfit. Come in at the arms and neck but not the legs, just run the trace down to the bottom of the fabric.
2Cut around the trace with a sharp pair of scissors.3.With the two pieces of cut fabric still together, create a straight stitch all the way around the sides of the fabric, about 1 centimeter (0.4 in) in, excluding the neck and arm holes.4.Trim any excess fabric around the stitch if necessary.5.Turn your sewn bag inside out so the stitching is on the inside.6.Cut a straight line from the center of the neck hole halfway down the sleeping bag. This is how you get your baby in and out.7.Lay the nylon length of Velcro along the cut line and stitch around the border.Repeat with the other piece of Velcro.
8.Alternatively, decorate the sleeping bag, stitch a soft ribbon along the length of the slit you made in the centre.9. Place your baby inside of the baby warm sleeping bag and let them sleep safely.
